What We Provide
—
We offer a mobile Physiotherapy, STOTT Pilates, Dry Needling and Women’s Health service. Upon an initial 60 minute appointment and assessment, we will create a personalised rehabilitation plan that best suits your needs.
Physiotherapy
Correct treatment after an injury ensures that the injured site is correctly loaded for its stage of healing to promote best recovery rates. Without guidance, you can be at risk of further re-injury and slower healing times. Getting an injury assessed by a Physio
allows for a faster and correct rehabilitation. It will save you time and money spent on future reoccurring / compensatory injuries.
STOTT Pilates
The STOTT Pilates education method is unparalleled in the industry for its thoroughness and quality. The training has often been called the “Ivy League” of Pilates education. It is a reputation that we are proud of and a philosophy and method that can ensure the best results. STOTT Pilates unique movements place more emphasis on scapular stabilization than other methods.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a form of therapy involving a thin filiform needle that penetrates the skin and stimulates underlying myofascial trigger points. Dry needling works by releasing these trigger points to relieve pain and improve range of motion. Research supports that dry needling improves pain control, reduces muscle tension, and normalizes muscular dysfunction.
Women's Health
—
How can a Women's Health Physiotherapist help you? As a Women’s Health Associate Member (WHTA), Amy’s training has led to a professional interest in incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and problems arising from childbirth & pregnancy. With our expertise and care, we aim to treat abdominal separation, caesarean section pain, and improve core strength. Amy can come to you, or can see you at her clinic based in Albany.
-
Abdominal Separation (Diastasis Recti):
Amy will identify and measure the abdominal separation, and assess the spine and pelvis. Upon assessment, she will provide an individualised plan of safe exercises, that aim to strengthen and restore the core.
-
Pelvic Floor Trauma:
Amy will assess and identify the muscles that may be too tight (from scar tissue), too weak, or muscles that are causing extensive pain. Upon assessment, She will provide Physiotherapy treatment which will be specific to each client’s needs and goals. Treatment could include: home exercises, relaxation, stretches and progression to safe core strengthening exercises.
-
Urinary and Bowel Incontinence.
Amy will assess the urinary system, and provide a diary log to record symptoms over a 2 day period. She will then use this diary to diagnose, and to create a treatment plan.
-
Caesarean Section:
Recovery from caesarean section can be painful. Amy will provide education on how to manage scar pain, when to start abdominal exercises, and how to do them safely. Amy aims to help restore the body to its pre pregnant state.
-
Post-Partum Tearing of Pelvic Floor Muscles or Perineum.
-
Mastitis and Blocked Lactiferous Ducts:
Amy will assess and provide a plan which includes ultrasound treatment. This treatment is very successful in clearing painful blockage, usually after 2-3 sessions.
-
Back Pain, Neck Pain and Wrist Pain:
Amy will identify and assess the muscles that are tight, and need strengthening. She will then provide an individualised plan, and Physiotherapy treatment, which will include soft tissue mobilisation, massage, stretching and safe core strengthening.
-
Weak Core Strength:
Amy will assess your core strength, and provide exercises to safely strengthen and restore the postpartum body. Core strength progressions will vary between individuals.
